Upon invitation by the Ordem dos Enfermeiros (Order of Nurses), the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses attended the ceremony marking the admission of recent graduates from the two Nursing Higher Education Colleges of the Universidade dos Açores, into the Ordem dos Enfermeiros, which took place on the 4th September in Ponta Delgada. The OPP was represented by Board member, Dr.ª Maria da Luz Melo.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the Ordem dos Enfermeiros, the President of the Conselho Jurisdicional Nacional da Ordem dos Enfermeiros, the Regional Health Secretary, the Vice President of the Municipal Council of Ponta Delgada and representatives from the Regional Offices for the different Professional Orders, which are represented in the Azores.

Participation in the event allowed a closer relationship to be forged between the two entities and to learn of some of the problems and solutions these health professionals have to face, some of which are common to our profession.

Furthermore, we were able to contact the Health Minister to introduce the Order and raise awareness for future contacts.
