The OPP was accepted today as a full member of the Federación Iberoamericana de Asociaciones de Psicologia, (FIAP), or Iberoamerican Federation of Psychology Associations, in the city of Oviedo, Asturias, where it is attending the 7th Congress of Iberoamerican Psychology.
The OPP therefore joins the ranks of ABA Colombia, the Colegio Oficial de Psicologos de España [COP] (Official College of Psychologists of Spain), the Colegio de Psicologos del Peru (Official College of Psychologists of Peru), the Colegio de Psicologos de Chile (Official College of Psychologists of Chile), the Federacion de Psicologos de Argentina (Federation of Psychologists of Argentina), the Consejo Nacional para la Enseñanza y la Investigacion de la Psicologia de Mexico (Mexican National Council for Teaching and Research in Psychology) and the Federacion de Psicologos de Venezuela (Venezuelan Federation of Psychologists).
Guatemala's representation was also accepted on the same occasion. With the admission into this federation, we are fulfilling our programme to associate the OPP to the most important international psychological associations, which shall provide the opportunity to exchange experiences that shall undoubtedly be useful for Portuguese psychologists.
