The Order participates in the legal process on Palliative Care

This work group included the presence of Samuel Antunes, Vice-President and David Neto, member of the Board of the Order.

The Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP) was invited to participate in the discussion of the Law Project on Palliative Care, at Parliament, last Tuesday. The objective of this initiative is to create and approve the new Law for Palliative Care. Samuel Antunes, Vice-President and David Neto, member of the Board of the Order were present at this session.

This initiative translates into the recognition, of the legislator, of the relevance of the Ordem dos Psicólogos (OPP) and the contribution of Psychology to the provision of quality healthcare, in Palliative Care.

The Order made relevant contributions regarding the greater clarification of the role of psychologists in this area. By integrating the multi-disciplinary team, psychologists can work with the patient, the family and the professional himself.
