OPP signs collaboration agreement with psychology associations of CPLP

The partnership is aimed at sharing scientific knowledge, and also promoting an exchange between Portuguese Speaking Countries.

The Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP), the Associação de Psicologia de Moçambique (Psychology Association of Mozambique), the Ordem dos Psicólogos de Angola (Order of Psychologists of Angola), the Conselho Federal de Psicologia do Brasil (Federal Council of Psychology of Brazil) and the Associação de Psicólogos de Cabo Verde (Psychology Association of Cape Verde) recently signed a collaboration agreement aimed at narrowing the partnership relations between these organisations.

The agreement intends to establish an integration and cooperation channel which promotes scientific knowledge, research and the cultural and social interchange of psychologists from the Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).

For the President of the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP), the signing of the agreement marks an important point in the relationships between Portuguese Speaking Countries. “It is a work which has many possible paths to exchange experience, because all the countries involved have things to teach each other”, said Telmo Mourinho Baptista.

At the ceremony, which took place in Lisbon and at which the Board of the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP) was present, the President insisted on mentioning that Portuguese Speaking Countries have much expression in Psychology and enhanced the qualities, the work potential and the experience of psychologists in these countries.

At the table, in addition to Telmo Mourinho Baptista, President of the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP), there was also Bóia Efraime, from Associação de Psicologia de Moçambique, Carlinhos Zassala, from Ordem dos Psicólogos de Angola, Humberto Verona, from Conselho Federal de Psicologia do Brasil and Zaida Freitas, from Associação de Psicólogos de Cabo Verde.

The representatives of psychologists of CPLP were special guests at the 1st Congress of the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP) which took place from the 18th to the 21st of April, at Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon. The committee participated in a discussion related to “Psychology in Portuguese Speaking Countries”.
