Everything ready for the OPP 1st National Congress

Almost two thousand professionals will gather from the 18th to the 21st of April at Centro Cultural de Belém to discuss solutions for the class and the country.

It will be a historic moment for psychologists and for Psychology in Portugal. This week, from the 18th to the 21st of April, almost two thousand psychologists will gather, for the first time, as a class, at the 1st National Congress of the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP).

The meeting will take place at Centro Cultural de Belém and promises to be an important moment for the class. According to the President of the Ordem dos Psicólogos (OPP), Telmo Mourinho Baptista, the OPP 1st National Congress, “is a unique moment for the assertiveness of a class which is prepared and ready to make a very important contribution to society at this time”.

The President also stated the psychologists have a fundamental role in the current context because “they understand human behaviour better”. In addition to this, psychologists are also in the best position to “deal with the situations of uncertainty that the country is currently going through”, because we work daily with this type of crisis scenario.

For the organisation, the Congress is the culmination of months of intense work to bring together the best national and international specialists to promote moments for sharing. This is the time to speak of what is done best in Psychology in our country and abroad. This is a unique and very important Congress for psychologists to create ties and contact networks, which are more and more important in a global society”, stated David Neto president of the Organising Committee.   

It is going to be four intense days of workshops, conferences, presentations and discussion spaces. Everything to offer psychologists a moment which will certainly make history in Psychology.

In addition to the variety of presentations, conferences and discussions, you can also see what the organisation has prepared for you.
