Recognition of Professional Experience: End of training course

29.March.2012

This closure will not influence the normal operation of the training courses associated with professional internships, aimed at the internship members who are carrying out their respective professional internship with the OPP.

At the end of December 2011, the deadline ended for those who had professional experience prior to the date of the publication of the regulations for internships of the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP) to send their respective proof and obtain recognition for their professional experience. Analysing this system of recognition, almost 2400 members of the OPP received recognition of the maximum time (12 months).

The balance until the end of March shows that 1767 people have already completed their training, with a pass grade, and have become permanent members. 135 trainees are now registered or are taking courses. There are 481 members who, with the maximum recognition, only have to take the course to become permanent members.

Therefore there is a normal reduction in the training needs related to this course. Therefore, during the 2nd quarter, the training offered will be centred in the Districts of Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra and Braga. A course in the Alentejo and another in the Algarve have also been programmed. This concentration of training is due to the fact that these districts still have a concentration of potential trainees in sufficient numbers to hold viable courses. Furthermore, the end of the training courses associated with professional internships for members who are having their professional experience recognised is expected for the end of July of this year.

This closure will not influence the normal operation of the training courses associated with professional internships, aimed at the internship members who are carrying out their respective professional internship with the OPP. These courses (which are distinguished by their duration, content and evaluation system) are offered with the designation EST at the end of the name of the edition and began to occur more often, also increasing the locations in which they were held.
