The President of the Ordem dos Psicólogos (OPP), Telmo Mourinho Baptista, participated in the 19th National Meeting of Psychology Students which tool place in Zambujeira do Mar, Odemira, last weekend. The objective of the meeting was to promote the meeting of all Psychology students in the country, to discuss scientific topics related to the practice. The Ordem dos Psicólogos (OPP) sponsored the meeting and participated, in addition to the opening session with the presence of the President, in clarification sessions and a permanent information desk about the Order.

During the opening speech, Telmo Mourinho Baptista highlighted the importance of creating unity in the profession and the need for a positive contribution of psychologists in the resolution of the problems of Portuguese society. The President of the Order also asked the students present to develop projects and ideas which can be assumed, by the different organisms, as a way of helping the promotion of well-being and the resolution of problems. «It is important that students become more concerned with presenting solutions which contribute to an improvement in Portuguese society. We need there to be a better knowledge of the contribution of Psychology to well-being, and all together, we are not too many to do this», stated Telmo Mourinho Baptista.

The meeting which was attended by more than 200 Psychology students from all over the country and by 50 lecturers, ended on Sunday.
