There is «solid data» to support the results of psychological interventions

The guarantee was given by the President of the Ordem dos Psicólogos (OPP) at the XII National Congress of Group Analysis, covering the topic «The Power of Words», which took place at the German School in Lisbon.

The President of the Ordem dos Psicólogos (OPP) participated in the XII National Congress of Group Analysis, covering the topic «The Power of Words». The Congress was held at the German School in Lisbon, on the 4th and 5th of November.

Telmo Mourinho Batista welcomed the topic chosen for the Congress because of the focus it gives to the therapeutic aspects obtained by the «power of words». He also highlighted how words, and narratives built by words, «can give some sense to personal experiences».

The President of the Ordem dos Psicólogos highlighted the importance of the learning done by professionals, in the context of various types of training, for the development of skills which better allow help to patients in psychology services. He also stated that there was «solid data» which supports the results of psychological interventions and the interest of the Order in disclosing the results of the efficiency of the intervention.

In addition to Telmo Mourinho Baptista, President of the Ordem dos Psicólogos (OPP), the opening session of the Congress was also attended by representatives from other Orders and professional associations.
