The Cabinet, The Ministry of Economy e Employment and the NCPA signed protocol

Access to paid internships


The Cabinet, the Ministry of Economy and Employment and the Nacional Council of Professional Assciations (NCPA), of which the Ordem dos Psicólogos is a member, signed today a protocol destined to remove the existing barriers to access to financing programs for mandatory internships to obtain a professional certificate.

Telmo Mourinho Baptista, President of the OPP, along with the other Presidents of professional associations was present at the oficial signing ceremony of the agreement, initialed by Minister Miguel Relvas, the Secretary for Employment, Pedro Silva Martins and the President of NCPA, Orlando Monteiro da Silva.

This measure, that will afect about 18 thousand internships, comes under the Young Boost Program/ Employment Passport and intends to stimulate job creation through access to financing. This way, those professions represented by CNOP, that demand professional internship, can have compensation for organizing the internships.

A grupo of initiatives will follow to accomplish the terms of the signed protocol.

The Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses, that currently has one of the biggest internship programs for a regulated profession cherishes this initiative, for which had many times advocated before government officials and that was an unecessary barrier to achieve the employment goals.
