The President stresses the need to create jobs for young people

The President of the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP) was on national television (“Revista de Imprensa” on TVI24), on November 4th, to comment on the news of the day.

Amongst other issues, the growing youth unemployment and the search for jobs overseas deserved special attention from Telmo Mourinho Baptista. According to the President of OPP, the country has been loosing potencial due to the rising emigration of those that, in his opinion, can do more for the economic recovery and so it is necessary to join forces to find the solutions and conditions, in the short-term, for the more than 20 thousand youngsters under 25 that are unemployed.

At the same time, the President of the OPP emphasized the A3ES's review of the university degrees and the following termination of those that did not met the proper standards for a normal activity.

Telmo Mourinho Baptista also addressed the crisis's influence on portuguese families, underlining that currently the family imbalances are higher and that in some cases the therapeuthic intervention is imperative.
