The President of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, Dr. João Jardim, welcomed a delegation of the Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses (OPP) to the region on the 2nd July, which was comprised of the President (Telmo Baptista), the Vice-President (Teresa Carvalho) and a member of the Assembly of Representatives for Madeira (Paula Mesquita). During the meeting several matters were discussed concerning the intervention of psychologists in Madeira, in different fields. The President of Madeira highlighted the positive role of psychologists following the recent events of the 20th February, in supporting the victims of the storm. The OPP made itself available to cooperate with the Government of Madeira in promoting psychological intervention.
