The first meeting of a cycle of seven conferences, organised by Associação Recriar Caminhos and the Faculdade de Psicologia e Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Coimbra, was aimed at bringing attention to the new paradigm in mental health in Portugal.

The journalist stated that the document raises «interesting questions» which may be disturbing to those who «look at the presence of psychology as a luxury far from being essential».

The recruitment process is intended to create a task force, nationwide, to facilitate the integration of psychologists in the job market.

The document has already been delivered to the Ministry of Health and shows the importance of psychological intervention in the reduction in health expenses.
